Creativity is at the heart of my teaching and learning. Engaging the imagination in all aspects of study and practice brings a deeper learning and teaching experience.
I am interested in the process of letting go as deeply as possible into the sounds and pulse of collective jazz improvisation.
And I am interested in helping others do the same.
Approaching my teaching with positivity and loving-kindness, I love to share new improvisation strategies and concepts.

About Teaching
The Nash Jazz DivAZ
The Nash DivAZ originated from the recognition that young women learning jazz benefit from a specialized, supportive learning environment. The Nash has been sponsoring this educational program for girls ten and older since 2019.
The DivAZ meet every Saturday morning at the Nash, under the direction of Jazz saxophonist player Mary Petrich. The DivAZ have performed for multiple events, including The Nash Gala at The Heard Museum, Celebration of Jazz Women at the MIM, and at Sacred Grounds Coffee House.
They were featured on the Main Stage at Phoenix Festival of the Arts - December 2022
